The Local Government Act, 2016, Act 936 section 81(1) states that the District Assembly shall collaborate and cooperate with non-decentralized departments, state owned enterprises and public corporations operating in the district to ensure a coordinated approach to the development and management of the district.
In line with this mandate, the Atiwa West District Assembly has held an intersectoral stakeholder engagement meeting and discussed 2026 workplans of the various entities in the district.
The District Chief Executive, Hon. Amo Johnson Anom, addressing the meeting stressed the need for all heads of institutions to meet frequently and deliberate on issues confronting them, adding that such engagements would help avoid duplication of activities and ensure a more convenient and cost-effective implementation of programmes and projects to accelerate the development of the district.
The meeting saw participants from various organizations including all heads of Department of the Assembly, the Electricity Company of Ghana, Ghana National Fire Service, National Commission for Civic Education, Ghana Police Service, Atiwa Rural Bank, Ghana Water Company, among others.
