The Atiwa West District Assembly as part of activities to mark this year’s 67th Independence Day Anniversary Celebration last Saturday, March 2, 2024 organized a clean-up exercise.
The exercise, which started at 60 :30 am throughout the district, lasted for almost five hours with all shops and markets closed to pave way for a successful clean up exercise.
Participants, including personnel from the Ghana Police Service, staff of the Assembly, personnel from zoomlion, property owners, traders, social clubs and residents swept, removed debris from gutters and cleared the weeds.
Talking to the media on the sideline of the event, the District Coordinating Director Mr. Divine Seth Nuworbor, indicated that the assembly was determined to stop the untidy conditions in the district and appealed to the residents to take interest in the exercise. He urged the people to unite and strengthen their communal spirit for the betterment of their environmental health.
